It's been a decade since they spent over a year filming these fims, so I decided to sit down and rewatch all the BTS Appendices from the Extended Cut set of DVDs. Between the three films its almost 20 hours of behind the scenes stuff. Awesome fascinating stuff.
Next I'm going to rewatch the films. I'm wrestling with attempting to watch the Commentaries on them, but as there are as many as four different commentary tracks on each film, that's like 60 hours including just the normal versions. And after watching the appendices, I feel like much of the commentaries will be information I just gleaned from rewatching the documentaries.

Or you could just eat some bad chicken.
The ensuing vomiting and diarrhea would be far more entertaining.

I don't think Diabolical can wait for The Hobbit to come out.

I seriously may pull a LOTR trilogy marathon tomorrow. Josh, if you haven't seen all of them, (and I know for a fact you haven't) you should at least give them a whirl. And if not a Trilogy then try at least the last two. We agree on pretty much every movie (I seriously can't recall us disagreeing on any movie) so try it...?

Watching the Lord of the Rings movies back to back to back is sort of like eating a giant bowl of Cherry Garcia ice cream and then going to bed and finding Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley in your bed already and making passionate love to both of them for three days straight, only stopping to watch Phineas & Ferb reruns and enjoy more Cherry Garcia (off their bare chests, of course).

I have seen the first two and was bored out of my damn mind.
The first one - It took me three times to watch it because I kept falling asleep.
The Second One - I actually saw it in theaters. 30 minutes in and I was checking my watch, counting down the minutes until it was over.
The third - yeah, that ain't gonna happen.
My viewpoint on LOTR is very similar to Randal's in Clerks 2.

If you change that to some kind of chocolate type of ice cream and I think I could probably give LOTR another shot.

You've never had Cherry Garcia, have you? Chocolate ice cream with cherries. Definitely worthy of being eaten off Natalie Portman's boobs.
Vyn, what I'm saying, well, one day you'll hit puberty and your voice will change and you'll be interested in girls and you'll understand.

Cherries = yuck. Unless you're talking about Cherry Coke.
Not saying I wouldn't take one for the team and try it on her titties though.

Well, neither Portman nor Knightley have any breasts to speak of, but if it came down to having a threesome with those two or never being able to watch a LOTR movie with commentaries again...I'd choose the threesome. Commentaries aren't THAT interesting.

Things you didn’t realize you needed in your life until you saw them.
“I don’t know, will he?” Fan-friggin-tastic.
The Beatles tried to make a Lord of The Rings movie to complete their movie deal. Paul would have been Frodo. Ringo would have been Sam. George Harrison as Gandal, and John Lennon as Gollum. They tried to get Stanley Kubrick to direct it, because John Lennon was obsessed with 2001: A Space Odyssey. Kubrick turned them down. JRR Tolkien rejected the whole thing.
