My first game since last Christmas!
I just LOVE swinging through Manhattan. Cool locales like the Daily Bugle, Baxter Building, Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum, and the Latverian Embassy are just a few marverous landmarks to pop up. Since this is the Ultimate universe, there's no Avengers mansion or Stark Towers, but maybe when they do a regular Marvel Spidey game we can get those and also the Law Offices of Nelson & Murdock.

haven't found strange's digs yet, but yeah, this game freakin' rocks. playing as venom is really fun, too! too bad there's no triskelion or anything, and the city isn't as close to real as spider-man 2, but it is really well-done. queens is fun, and i like the queensborough bridge and tunnel... the baxter building looks really cool, and the trask building is like the tallest thing in the city. they did the up-close graphics better than spider-man 2, but from afar the city looses detail much faster.

The bridge and tunnel are actually flipped around from in real life. And the bridge goes over Roosevelt island, but they left it out in this version. There are a lot of NYC landmarks that got dropped from this version. i realize they can't put everything in, but I was looking for Rockefeller Plaza and Madison Square Garden forever. I can't decide which control set-up I like better either. i guess I'm used to the SM2 controls. Theres some nice little touches with the background characters. Like if Spider-Man throws a punch by a civilian, they turn an run screaming, which in turns causes all the other nearby civilians to turn and run screaming. They should have a public perception meter in the corner which rates how much people hate Spider-Man. I like the music, too.

yeah, i was disappointed by the roosevelt island drop, too... but i guess we got queens instead, which is just a bigger version of roosevelt island...
i don't know why the made the controls different from SM2... still getting used to them. i end up jumping around like a lunatic when i try to punch someone...

I beat it. I got hung up on the Venom chasing Electro stage for the longest time, but after I beat that ( Electro can only take so many cars being tossed at him) I made it to the Green Goblin chase. By then I was so frustrated I called it quits until about three in the morning and then whipped through the rest of the game suprisingly fast. Then I went through and beat all the fight tours ( That fucking Asain gang is TOUGH with the machete throwing and bitches with fireballs and shit). Then I did all my City Events ( my final Event was giving Boomerand a righteous beatdown in a back alley in Harlem. Righteous!) Now I'm trying to go through all those races so I can haves me a Black Spidey costume. I also need three more Comic Books covers and about 25 secret tokens. That's gonna be fucking annoying scouring EVERY FUCKING INCH of NYC to find #100. Assholes is whoever thought up tokens.
As far as controls, I keep doing a left right combo whenever I'm swinging towards a goal and it makes me webzip then bounce off the wall, so I end up heading in the wrong direction. I've called my controller so many names it's funny. I had spittle coming off my lips at one point I was in such a rage.
