kingdom come figures

Post by vynsane »

these things look soooooo cool, because they are based directly on paintings by alex ross. i have the first set, which consists of superman, wonderwoman, the green knight (hal jordan green lantern) and hawkman(/god)

the second set that came out just a couple of weeks ago, includes batman, shazam, red robin (dick grayson) and the new kid flash (chick in a yellow flash costume sans sleeves, with a black leather jacket on...)

they are sooooo cool... man, if i had money...

They are very realistic. Money is the issue here, however. 22.99 a pop up in Canada. Had to pass.

Yeah. DC Direct is too rich for my blood. Which is a damn shame since they've had some sweet ass figgies over the years.

The Modern Justice Leaguers coming out soon as well as the Hush Batman figs look killer. i may break down and get Bats and Hush...

Ohhh man. As soon as I say i won't get and DC Direct figgies, I see Supes at the Suncoast. Had to buy him. That look on his face that says, "We are NOT amused" and the extra ankle, wrist, thigh and bicep articulation made it worth the $12.99 price point. If the others had had more articulation, I might have sprung for them too. Especially Flash and Wonder Woman. I may still break down and snag them later.

But I really, really, don't want to start collecting Dc Direct. I'm broke enough as it is.

I'll have to look for pics online...... was that the Superman on the yellow card, around Marvel Legends scale, the Kingdon Come one, or a different one?

It's the new JLA wave. Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Kyle Raner Green Lantern in his newest costume, and Aquaman sportin' the orange and green duds and his nifty aquatic hand. the others have the same old boring neck, arms, and hip articulation. i don't know why Supes got special treatment. I'm assuming Batty got left out since he's got his own wave coming up. They are talking about a second JLA wave later this year with Atom, Firestorm and some others.

So those won't be showing up at Wal Mart then? I was hoping the JLA figures were going to get mainstream release like the animated little ones Miranda likes (okay, I like and she winds up getting). Im going to look for pics of these on ebay to see what's up. I didn't see them in the comic store last week.

EDIT: I looked, Supes is amazing. I don't know what's up with Aquaman's leg though, looks like the knee is bent the wrong way on the pic I saw. Wonder Woman and Flash look pretty good, but GL looks too young. I would have had Hal Jordan just for the toy line. Maybe wave 2 could be the replacements or young'uns wave or something.

Green lantern looks like he's wearing lip gloss. Kyle IS a little fruity bugger.

I'd rather have a vintage Hal Jordan myself. Or Guy Gardner. I think the comic shop in the next town over had one of them last time I was there. maybe I'll take a road trip...

So far I've got All the Hush figures.

I got the new Teen Titans series, except Brother Blood and Blackfire.

I got all of JLA series 1, except Green Lantern, and Atom and Firestorm from series 2.

And I'm gonna snag a Hal Jordan and maybe Kilowog from the new GL series.

I'm looking forward to the Identity Crisis figures in the fall so I can get a Hawkman and Green Arrow to round out my JLA set up on my PC desk.

Nice sets indeed. I almost went on a binge when Kebco was offering the Dark Knight and Kingdom Come figures in banged up packages for a ridiculously low price. 12 figures for $100 or something like that. Anyhow, I passed for money reasons - having seen the figures in person at my comic shop, I regularly think about that deal and what a mistake I made in letting it pass me by.

Oooh! New pics from the Superman/Batman wave 2 just showed up online. That Darkseid is looking pretty freaking sweet. Too bad I have to wait until JUNE 2006 to get him.

So after huge delays, the new DC Direct waves are starting to glut the pegs at my comic shop. The Long Halloween, and Secret Identity waves hit one week after the other and the Identity Crisis wave is FINALLY coming in a week or two. Time to break out the checkbook.

Whoo hoo! Hawkman is awesome! I wish Marvel would've done Angel's wings like this. And Green Arrow is nice too. For all intents, my JLA roster is complete.

Next up, Bane and Catwoman from the Knightfall series.

I had to go back and buy Deadshot and I'm glad I did. Beautiful sculpting, even better once he's out of his packaging. The only Elseworlds figure I had my eye on was the Thrillkill Batgirl because it was such a cool costume design and I have a thing for bare midriffs even on small plastic chicks. But I also had to buy groceries that week, so...
