Happy Birthday Bob.
From India to Mexico and in places such as Germany, Israel, Italy, Vynsane.com, Kenya and Slovenia, today (or sometiime this week) the world will pause to celebrate the birthday of reggae's foremost practitioner, the Hon Robert Nesta Marley. Marley's music rocked and is still rocking the world, as is obvious by the global recognition of his birthday.

Tonight, in Imphal, India, there will be staging of the 13th Annual Bob Marley Tribute, held for 12 years in Shillong, and for the first time in Imphal with music by Roots Reggae Band featuring guest artistes Daniel Boko from Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh; Rewben Mashangva from Ukhrul, Manipur; PhuNingDing from Karbi Anglong, Assam; Dymsal from Shillong, Meghalaya; X-Cannibals from Imphal, Manipur and Jerry from Aizawl, Mizoram.

Jamaican artistes, Freddie McGregor, Delly Ranx, Chino and Weed Family will be in Belgium and Denmark to perform on Bob Marley tributes there; a special celebration was held on February 2 in Finland which featured the best mix of Roots reggae, dancehall and reggaeton

In Germany, on Saturday February, 9 there will be a Bob Marley Birthday Bash with Jah Woodland Sound featuring Jah Present, Mista Wicked & Riddim Disasta, special guest Gauwailers and a midnight, Ganjaman, while a Bob Marley 63rd Birthday Celebration will be held at Ganey Hataroucha, Tel Aviv, Israel on February 7.

Italy will Remember A Legend on February 9 with the presentation of the Kebra Nagast, translated for the first time in Italian by Lorenzo Mazzoni. A dance celebration with Heart on Fire & Dubass will be held at the Dread Lion Pub.

In Kenya, from February 6-8, there will be Bob Marley Day Street Walk and shows. The street walk will join children from Nairobi, Mombasa , Kisumu, Meru and Nyeri who have been affected by the crisis of election in the country. Events include First Word of Jah (Prayer), a fun day and a concert
On Friday February 8, Mexico will host a Tribute to the Reggae Legends (formerly Bob Marley Day) Celebration in El Foro, Tijuana, while Slovenia will have a Reggae Vibes Earthday Celebration of Honourable Robert Nesta Marley in Tovarna Rog, Ljubljana, today.

In the UK, a host of events are being planned, with names such as Winston Reedy, Prince Malachi, Earl 16, Michael Prophet, Stanley Prince Andrews and the Mafia & Fluxy band. Ras Michael & the Sons of Negus, Cannabis Cup Reggae Band and a host of others will be part of the celebrations to be held in several states across the US.
