I officially think Lucas is a douchebag

I've tried to maintain my respect for the guy. But it's getting tougher and tougher.

He finished Star Wars to work on Howard the Duck, Willow, and Radioland Murders. One good movie, one tolerable one, and one that sucked balls. Oh, and Young Indy. Sorry, that show is like a kidneystone stuck in your urethra that doesn't make itself known until Keira Knightley is taking off her bra in front of you and then you have to double over in pain and say, "Sorry... Keira... no fucking... today."

Then the Prequels. One wasn't bad. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. Two was, however, bad. Three could've and should've made up for the other two. It didn't by a long shot.

Now he's fucking up the legacy of Indiana Jones. And he's going to drag down Spielberg and Ford with him. Not that they're far above him, anymore.

He canned Tartakovksy because he was sick of hearing some animator did better Star Wars prequels than he could do. You know it, I know it. It doesn't have to be spelled out. So he, being the kind of idiot who's so full of himself, thinks it's all the Star Wars name. And we're getting what looks like utter horse jizz. Two years later than we should've, had he had any idea how to keep momentum going after Episode III. Oh, and now it sounds like he's going to debut it in theaters. Is anyone snowed enough by this dumb fuck to drop money to see Anakin's padawan saving Jabba's baby? What the fuck? I still can't believe I just wrote that.

The live action show, well, does anyone give a fucking rat's ass? Does anyone read the shitty books about prequel-era Jedi becoming Sith Lords two hundred years after Return of the Jedi?

I swear to God, he's trying to see how far into the shit he can push all his ideas before fans actually stop feeding him money.

I never thought I'd honestly be able to say that I would be skipping theatrical releases of a fourth Indy movie and a Star Wars cartoon, all in the same year.

I'm actually looking forward to Indy 4. If it ends up sucking, then so be it.

As for Star Wars, I'm not beginning to hate it, I'm just tired of it all. The new cartoon looks anywhere from "meh" to snigtadian, but I'm sure I'll give it a chance. I don't think Lucas canned Tartarsauceky because he did it better than George. Hell, George isn't even directing the toon. Besides, Clone Wars wasn't all that good to begin with, especially the second season.

Similar thing with the live action series - I'll give it a chance but I'm nowhere near excited for it.

The EU is and, for the most part, always has been a joke.

I liked all of the PT movies, but I agree with 99% of people that they aren't nearly as good as the OT.

For the most part, I think you have some pretty valid points. Lucas has sort of let shit go to the pot. The prequels were alright for what they were, and I thought Episode III was nearly on par with the original trilogy. But I don't know why he's juggling all this EU crap around right now.

Spielberg still is, thanks to "Munich".

Episode III was nearly on par with the Original Trilogy except for the nagging point that it didn't have a plot or any character development.

Say what you will about plot, but Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine had more character development in ROTS than TPM and AOTC combined.

I can't even watch Episodes II or III anymore.

Did you make that up or is that really part of the animated series? If the later, when did Anakin get a padawan? On second thought, I don't want to know.

Nope, not one bit. I have zero expectations for it and I will not go out of my way to watch it.
I swear to God, he's trying to see how far into the shit he can push all his ideas before fans actually stop feeding him money.
O YES!

This is true. However, "very, very little" is still more than "none" and "none" combined. Honestly, it's pretty damned sad when the same guy who wrote the first Star Wars movie (which, no question, is one of the greatest movies of all time) does what's supposed to be the lynchpin movie of the series, and it ends up having less character development than the spinoff cartoon that's supposed to be all action. (If you can look at me and say, while keeping a straight face, that, whether you liked it or not, the third season of Clone Wars had less character development than ROTS, I'll ask you to go back and retake every English class you ever slept through.)

Sadly, I did not make it up. I have no idea how Anakin could have a padawan without it being a major issue in ROTS. However, the info isn't clear yet if she's saving Jabba's son or nephew.

In any case, it looks like a shitty game from the original Playstation.

I have to wonder, since the guy has proven already he was at one point one of the greatest storytellers of our age, what the prequels and EU would be like if he hadn't sequestered himself away and surrounded himself by yes-men.

This is exactly why I don't follow Star Wars anymore. It's just too depressing.

I love Willow. One thing I want to do in life is to meet Warwick Davis. God bless Willow Ufgood. I have a fantasy where I'm doing the safety dance with him in the shire. I actually don't care very much for Star Wars, especially the prequels. I don't know anybody who seriously enjoys the prequels. The only enjoyment that there could be in the prequels is the cornucopia of bad acting in those things. I think I've seen each of the prequels just one time, and one time is all you really need. When I saw Attack Of The Clones in the theater, I was able to win 4 games of solitare on my phone. Thank you, George Lucas.

Bumcake, I got to meet Warwick Davis but it was at a convention and I had to pay for a signed photo, so it wasn't so much of a meeting as it was a prostitutional arrangement.

'Nark, I won't deny you have some valid points...because you are entitled to your views and there is merit in them. However, there's no fucking way Phantom Menace is better than even half of Clones or especially Sith, and Tartasucksky's Clone Wars was one of the most fucked up things in Star Wars, just wretched.

Phantom Menace was not a very good movie.

However, it was fun.

AOTC was dull, and ROTS was downright painful.

You got a signed photo?! Lucky. What does he smell like? I imagine Warwick smells like fabric softener and an old library book.

When I saw him, he smelled like cheese and feet. His car was broken down, so I gave him a ride to Trader Joe's. And then back home. Dickweed filled my entire car with oysters.
