Good ideas for new Characters

Post by mabudon »

First off, this ain't a slam at anyone or anything, just a disclaimer for any outside visitors, all the regulars will get it..

I was thinking about how there were never very many blaxploitation "superhero" films and accidentally came up with a new guy.... (footnote- I prolly saw almost 75% of the crazy 70's films from the genre, I prefer to call it "Blacktion", cause my fave titles weren't really all that exploitative)
Anyways, how bout a daredevil ripoff (think DC version, kinda) called "SuperBlind".... he's a big tough black dude who gets turned blind, and gets some kind of superpowers out of the deal... nothing real specific, but good enough to make him kick ass, and he can always respond top being called blind by saying "Thats SUPERBLIND, motha fuckah!!!" and then start beating the hell out of everyone.....
Think Marvel could sue??? I swear, this film needs to be made...
Any other good superhero ideas???
Would you go and see "SuperBlind"??

i think it would be cool to make a movie about people who are trapped in a computer program and don't know it. And then make two sequels to it that don't completely SUCK MY SHRIVELED SACK.

Ahhh, would you call it "Flowchart"???
Or maybe "The Grid" or even "Lattice"???

That would be cool (PS I don't know why, I mean I liked the first film, but for some reason I don't care at all about seeing the rest on 'em)

Nother character- "The (probably SOLAR) Searcher" he would be almost exactly like, obviously, the surfer.... cept he'd have a "skateboard" and a helmet, which would totally set him apart from Norrin... (the skating reference is the "Radd", maybe that could be his first name even)

How's the Searcher??? He would be pretty cool IMO....

I was going to start drawing TCC (Too Close Comics) a few months back but never really hit it.... now I've been toying with the idea of "Splash Page Comix", where each issue is just a loose collection of "pin-ups" and splash pages.... does THAT sound good??? I've read worse comic titles before, I think......

I would go for X-Plosive Action or some such bullshit - you're guaranteed to hit the top ten sellers list every month if you have a X in the title. Gotta think bank, man.

You could do the book in "widescreen" like the marvel annuals a couple of years ago. I thought that was pretty fresh.

Yeah, I gotta think harder about getting the "X" in there somewhere... I thought of a sidekick for Superblind, too, he'll be called "wings" and he'll be kinda like Angel with an attitude and a gun.... still working on the origins angle

How about a spunky Chinese-American teenager who shoots fireworks? That'd be uber-cool!

I had a dream last night I was reading a Marvel UK Transformers comic, and Jubilee's mind was put into Bumblebee's body.

Nope, she was just Jubilee. The same dream involved Hoist eating some kind of energon mushroom that made him constantly change from character to character without admitting to it.

"Hey, Smokescreen, I need you and Wheeljac--HEY! Weren't you Hoist a second ago?"

"Uh, no. What's the matter with you, Optimus Prime?"

"Nothing's the matter, Paul Anka--okay, Hoist, what's the deal?"

"Like, Optimus, I totally swear he's like changing back and forth, like some sort of evil mutant, y'know?"

Hey, does anyone know if there was ever a character called "Jurasso"?
He would be a good DC guy from the 60's... you could get lots of allitereation out of him if you play fast and loose with the geological ages... "The mesozoic menace".... "Triassic troublemaker"..... "neolithic nightmare"... you name it...

SupaBlind is looking pretty good... still haven't got a guy to make "Wings" out of.... he'll be like sanford, a brilliant inventor who lives in a junkyard seeded with more useful parts than an entire season of "junkyard wars"..
The other guy on the team will be "Hunch"... haven't fully figured him out yet...

And one that I've been working on for months and haven't mentioned... a ninja superhero named "Vengeance Tiger"... he's sorta like a really angry kung-fu batman character... I've made 4 episodes of him already..... today we're editing the "world premiere" episode, "Can't Buy Me Vengeance", should be a hit.....

The latest Super Hero from Splash Page Comix...The FruitBat..."Yoo hoo! It'ss me the Fruitbat everybody! Sserioussly!" (The double s is an interior decorator/hair stylist lisp...if you get my meaning)

By night (s)he is the FruitBat, a crime fighter with FABULOUS fashion sense, by day (s)he is Buffy Johanssen, drag queen at the upscale night club Muffy Divin' who is in actuality Jeff Stern, analyst at a upscale Wall Street investment firm, who is in actuality Bulgar Johanssen, illegal polish immigrant. basically FruitBat/Buffy/Jeff/Bulgar spends so much time keeping his secret lifestyles from all his friends, he has no time to fight evil....
