Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has sold his Miami Beach mansion to Hollywood director Michael Bay.
The man behind such blockbusters as Transformers, Pearl Harbor and Armageddon paid a little more than the $18.9 million (U.S.) asking price for the 17,339-square-foot home on upscale North Bay Road.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, bought the house in April 2006 for $12 million and lived there with wife Linda and kids Brooke and Nicholas. It was featured last season in the reality show Hogan Knows Best.
While the family moved out of the gated mansion last Thursday, thieves made off with about $100,000 worth of jewelry. They’re relocating to an estate near Clearwater, Florida.
Bay’s new property boasts six bedrooms in the main house and two full guest apartments. There are plenty of windows and high ceilings and an elliptical floating staircase in the front foyer. The main house has a media room and large roof top terrace.
The property includes a five-car garage, pool and cabana, and a state of the art security system. There is also direct boat access on Biscayne Bay.
The 42-year-old director made both Bad Boys movies, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, in the Miami area.
As part of the deal, Hogan got to body slam Bay onto a pile of broken Go-bots for pissing off Hulkamaniacs everywhere when he released the Transformers movie.
