Golfer starts fire with shot from rough

RENO, Nev. - A golfer's attempt to get out of the rough and back on the fairway started a grass fire in Reno, Nevada, that burned about 20 acres near a golf course, officials said.
The golfer had knocked his ball into dry grass beyond the course on Monday afternoon, officials said. When he tried to play back to the fairway, his club struck something that created a spark.
"He was totally honest about it," said Reno Battalion Chief Curtis Johnson.
About 50 firefighters responded to the blaze as it spread through tinder-dry grass, and engine trucks were brought in to protect nearby homes.
No buildings were damaged and no one was injured, officials said.

Golf was invented by an Irishman. The "golfer" in question in the article was none other than that wank fuck Newsbot himself and he dinnae want to admit it. 'twas leakin' oil all over the grass an' thats why it went up like tinder so fast. Ye fuckin' arsehole. Yuir lucky a bunch of fine irish firefightin' lads was on hand to put out the flames, ye fuckin' prick.

Shenanigans! I seriously doubt a golf club could make a spark and start a fire. He was probably smoking and put on the ground while he took his swing.

He might have hit a stray rock or something, but they usually don't leave those kinds of things laying around on gold courses. Maybe he was using a steel golfball.

Ok, I admit it, I golf on occasion (once so far this year). I do it more of a social thing rather than an enjoyment thing. I'm not that good, so when I golf, I spend some time in the rough. I just don't see it being very likely that he hit a rock just right and create a spark. Now, guys that are smoking do put their cigarette/cigar down on the grass while they are swinging.
I did a search on yahoo for avatar websites, and I found

I was about 3 pages, and notice the top of the screen had "daily picks" and this was one of them.
