High School Reunion Tomorrow....

Yep, it's that time. I graduated back in 1991, and tomorrow is a big "Every Year" reunion for our high school, to raise money for a new gym floor. Thanks to Facebook, I've arranged to meet up with a couple of old buddies for a few drinks.

Anyone else had this experience? I'm worried that all of the seeing people I never liked will outweigh the glory of seeing the people I'd like to catch up with - but I'll go anyhow and check it out.

My 10 years passed last year and thank God there wasn't a reunion.
I hated 99% of the people I graduated with and have no desire to see any of them again.

I skipped my 10 year reunion. My wife was 8 months pregnant and I was getting ready to go to Kuwait, so I didn't want to travel from California to Virginia.

Yeah, I hear you guys. We were out west the last time someone tried to organize one, obviously we weren't spending 2 grand just to get back for some stupid shit like that.

This time though, it worked out. We've moved back to our home Province, and Jodi had planned a trip up to visit friends so I was clear to go. The best part was meeting up with a friend who I also went to University with - we'd badly lost touch. It was nice to see she has a kid as well, so we'll try to meet up next time we head back to our hometown.

The other thing that was funny? The idiots who were drunk and foolish 15 years ago are still pulling the same stupid shit.... but they're old and fat now.

My 10 year reunion would be next year and I could really care less either way. If there's one I might go. If not I'll be anything but heart broken.

I think reunions are going the way of the dinosaur (and the AMC Pacer) because of social utilities like Myspace and Facebook. I already keep in contact with the people from highschool that I care to via one or the other, so what is my motivation to spend money to see them "formally"?

i'm basically in touch with anyone i cared to keep in touch with. the rest can go fuck'emselves. why would i want to pay to go to a reunion to see all the jocks that hated me? i guess to see how fat they got, but hey, i got a little fat too at this point. meh.

But you don't work at a car wash to support your three kids.

I moved two states away during high school and I never forged the kind of friendships in those final two years that would make me want to "reconnect" with everyone 15 years later.

Oh god, its been 15 years since I graduated high school. Fuck I'm old. That's fucking depressing...
