Okay, so to stay in the pool to possibly be called for Jeopardy, you have to take a test. The results of the test can only qualify you for twelve months from the date of the test.
I last took it in January 2006. I got an e-mail announcing the 2007 test. They typically only do one or two online tests per year, and are no longer allowing any in-person tests for people unless they're on a contestant search. Being based in LA, they never do them in the SoCal area.
The test will be 1/23-1/25 (a different day for each time zone). The rules specifically state that if you took the test at any time since 1/23/06, you are ineligible.
Just to be on the safe side, I check my archived e-mail.
Guess what date they gave the test on last year?
January 26.
So, thanks to some fucknut moving the date back, which had to be intentional, I'm ineligible by three whole fucking days.
Which means I have to wait probably six months, if not a year, to get back on the list.
Goddammit to motherfucking hell.
