This show is like the shittiest comic Marvel ever produced. Except shittier. I expect Maul to knock up a woman named Shirley Jade at any point.

Not only that, they still charge $40 for what should be a $14.99 DVD set.

Well, the overcharging is in keeping with the "Marvel's shittiest comic ever" comparison.

It's also keeping in line with George Lucas needing to fuck a different $10,000 hooker every night. The man is the Mao Tse Tung of Marin County.

Revenge of the Sith is playing on CBS. It started at 10:30 PM. It seems an unusual time to be playing a film, but I guess I'm usually watching SNL on Saturdays so I don't know what CBS runs in that time slot. I don't think I've seen it in at least 5 years. There're still some decent parts (Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor aren't bad) but holy shit there's some shitty dialogue and acting in this. I don't know whether to laugh or just feel sad. What a wasted potential.

On a side note. One thing that always bothered me about this scene is when she says something like: Come on Han. Yet the words that her mouth moves to appear to be: Come on General.

$1000 a week during the ROJ filming is what I read she was spending on blow. And that's a long, long time ago.

Yeah, that bugs me too. I think it might be the opposite - on set, she said "Han," but they dubbed in "general." Either way, it's distracting, much like Padmé saying "I'm going to save Obi-Wan" in AOTC but dubbing in "help Obi-Wan" instead. I guess it runs in the family.

(What REALLY bugs me about this scene is when Lando turns into a flat shadow after talking to Han. It doesn't match the lighting, and there are people behind him who don't look like that. It's always struck me as really bizarre.)

I read from some dude at another site who has bouncing boobs but doesn't use them there that the latest episode of Shitty Fanfic Theater Clone Wars retconned Adi Gallia's death so that she was killed by Maul Reborn and not Grievous.

At this point, I'm thinking this show is a running joke between a few guys at Lucasfilm who are seeing exactly how far they can go before apologists give up. My guess is, next season, Anakin will now turn to the Dark Side because he has the hots for Yoda but walks in on Obi-Wan and Yoda in the bathtub.

Right, because Master Bayts (who was killed at the same time as Adi in the comic) was such a compelling, serious character that really deserved his place in the canon.

I'm pretty sure I have that comic at my parents' house, and I'll check next time I'm there. If they decide to keep it, they can probably just change it so Grievous injured her and Savage actually killed her (Maul was fighting Obi-Wan at the time). Leland Chee said recently that they've condensed the timeline of some of the previous Clone Wars stuff so that it takes place earlier in the war, before this series, so they're doing what they can to make it all work.

Why is it that earlier retcons don't seem to bother you (like multiple versions of character deaths during the OT-era EU), but the ones in this show really do? Or are you still angry that Luke's father's name was changed from Tan to Anakin?

I didn't say Bayts was awesome. But Obsession was one of the better SW comics. To invalidate it is a mistake, story-wise.

You're also confusing my pointing out that something is downright retarded from a storytelling perspective represents some sort of personal feeling of injury. I can ignore this pretty easily. I do, in fact. Sometimes, though, I poke my head into some spoilers and want to smash my head against a wall in frustration that Lucas is making money off this shit. It's bad. You'd even get fired from a clusterfuck like the DCnU if you botched continuity and made ridiculous choices like this. Rob Liefeld, for all our joking about him, wouldn't even do something this stupid.

To put it another way, it took about eight years to retcon Boba Fett's death (which was a mistake). It wasn't Lucas that did it. Lucas, in fact, says he sees that as not canon (though he approved tons of later stories with Boba, go figure) and stuck in a belch in ROTJ:SE to reinforce that Boba was dead.

It took just a little longer to retcon Maul's death. It went from Lucas himself saying that he showed him cut in two so people couldn't bring him back to him being the primary villain. Even the TPM kids' books were re-released to coincide with the TPM3D release, but had changes to them to indicate Maul was only mostly dead. Also, while Boba went down in one piece and, later, was the same guy (just a little smarter and more scarred), Maul went from a sort of pit bull with unquestionably fatal injuries to some sort of scheming mastermind.

I love the original SW movies. Even if I think they're much weaker, I like the prequels. I pick and choose the EU; some is excellent, some is utter horse shit. Clone Wars sometimes seems like an exercise to see how far they can go before everyone gets pissed off.

Its amazing how many times I've seen these movies yet I'm still noticing things I never saw before. Like Leia's fingernail. Or, today I got home and ANH was on Spike. I turned it on when R2 and C3PO were locking themselves in the closet in Mos Eisley. In the background, there was a droid. It had treads and a bluish gray base like the one that the Jawas had with all the arms. The difference was that the top half was a more royal blue. Kind of looked like a rolling water heater. You can see it again when Luke sells the Landspeeder. He's behind that goofy looking CZ-droid. For all I know, it was added in during one of the new renditions.
