Okay, so certain members of the forum have placed dibs on Yoda/Ben 2 pack, Shadow Scout, and Pimp Destro. And I am getting Stan Lee and She-Hulk, and Rodimus for myself.

But pretty much everything else is fair game. Anybody want anything? If I can swing a second purchase of anything, I will certainly try. No guarantees. But by all means let me know. :)

I should've asked already, but is there any sort of NECA NMBC exclusive this year?

GAH! i just found out that there's an SDCC exclusive abe sapien figure from the hellboy comics line!!!!!!!! GOD DAMMIT!!!!!!!

http://www.mezcotoyz.com/store/detail.aspx?ID=491

why the hell is it $25??? i guess since it's limited edition? does this mean there won't be a retail release???

also, it doesn't guarantee that it will be yours if you purchase it through their online store, so i guess i'll have to request that you pick this guy up for me. this would be in addition to the stan lee/spider-man figure if you can swing a second one for me.

and reading up at mezcotoyz.com, it seems that there will be no hellboy series 3 anyway... what a disappointing day. :(

Already done. I was planning on going down Wednesday, but I got a jpb instead and cant get down until Saturday. But I sent my list with a friend and he got your Abe and a Stan Lee.

Sadly, he missed out on Anarky's Pimp Destro and my Rodimus because of the retarded way Hasbro sets up their purchasing queue. They give you a ticket to return at a specific time so there isnt a huge line, but they dont limit purchases. So his ticket was for 3:00-4:00 PM and by that time people can come up and buy 10 of this 50 of that. so the Destros were all gone even though he was one of the first 50 people. Assholes.

Prince Caspian look good? Did they merge it with Voyage of the Dawn Treader or are they doing 2 separate movies?

It was mostly pre-viz computer models. They interviewed the director and the kid playing Caspian via video from Prague, and the fx director ( the guy from WETA in all the LOTR documentaries), producer, costume designer, etc were actually at the panel. They are doing each film individually, and starting with the next one ( Caspian), they hope to release one every year in the spring from now on. As long as they are doing well.

Dude, Downey Jr IS Tony Stark. It opens up on him doing a sales pitch to the government out in a rocky/desert area. "They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I say the best weapon is one you only have to fire ONCE. That's how my daddy did it. That's how America does it. And I think it's worked pretty well so far." Then he goes on to talk about exclusive repulsor technology.

Then it cuts to Tony being all playboy millionaire with hotties in hottubs and he's getting into a limo a hot reporter calls his name. Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan?) is his bodyguard (nice cameo!) indicates she's hot, so Tony turns around. She asks "What do you say to people referring to you as 'the Picasso of our time'? Stark retorts "Utterly ridiculous. I don't paint." then she asks "What about the other nickname 'Merchant of Death'?" Stark pauses for a moment "That one works" he say unapolegetically.

Cut to a convoy of humvees and such in the desert. A soldier looks at Stark and says "Would it be cool if I took a picture with you?" Stark says "it would be very cool." As they sit next to each other Stark says "You're not going to put this on your Myspace page are you? No gang signs..." The sodier puts his hand down, then Stark goes "No, I'm just kidding, throw it up there." Then an explosion.

Lots of quick shots of a firefight. Stark is stumbling through smoke and din, then a huge explosion and the image on screen goes negative black and white. Stark wakes up in a cave with a thing like a little hubcab attached to his chest and wires hooked up to a car battery. A scientist/fellow prisoner explains he saved Starks life and the electro-magnet is preventing shrapnel from entering his heart and killing him.

Then there's a voice over or something about getting a second chance ( honestly I wasn't listening because..) while theres a montage of Tony using the furnace to create the Mark I armor. It shows a bunch of soldiers outside a big wooden door that is getting thumped ominously, dust coming off of it. Then it blows open and it's IRON MAN. He's walking through the prison cave tossing bad soldiers left in right. He's got flame throwers and shit, then he gets outside. And it cuts to a quick montage of other images from the movie. Obadiah Stane, pepper potts, the mark 3 Armor etc. Mark 3 armor outracing fighter jets. Then a metal stamp press stamps the name Iron Man on a sheet of metal and it turns into the title. Then there is another quick shot of mark 3 flying through the clouds at a supremely fast speed.

In short. It fucking rocked and makes me want to kick you all in the balls with Iron Man armor.

Thanks for the recap, good recall on that EP, I would glady get kicked in the nuts by Iron Man as the price of admission to that shit, sounds like it just might be done almost PERFECTLY- even tho it's not "canon", it sounds like the "spirit" is fully intact, FUCK man I hope it comes out okay...

From what you posted tho, sounds like there's more than one person attached to the project that "gets" it

I always find it odd when folks say stuff about how "Iron Man was never a very big Marvel character"- even though I felt that way until around 1990 when I found a stack of IM #100 to somewhere around 200 for sale and grabbed 'em- it's so very Marvel, yet oddly atypical, but for a Marvel book it was pretty fuckin strong in a time when many other books were kinda suckin out loud. The arc where Tony accidentally killed that ambasador on international TV was particularly well done, and issues 130-ish where he takes on the Hulk and literally knocks him unconscious were fuckin AWESOME

"FWA WA WA BWOM!!!!!!!!" indeed :mabs:
