You will audibly gasp at least twice by the time you get to page 545. Guaranteed.

I finally started A Clash of Kings the other day. About 150 pages in. Slow to start, which seems odd since it picks up almost immediately where the first leaves off, but still really good. HopefullyI read a bit faster this time, as 2 months was too damn long to read that book.

I figure if I try and read a minimum of 25 pages a day, I can have done in about a month or so.

I just finished book 1 myself. The end of the 2nd last chapter had me excited, the end of the last one horrified. I really, truly loved it.

And yes, for what it's worth, there is a VERY strong link between this book & WoW - the Blizzard folks are obviously big fans, the name of many of those characters appear throughout the game.

I read recently that GRRM is considering splitting the 7th book like he did 4th into the 4th and 5th. Making 8 books in the series.

Worse, he could suddenly shift gears and have one of the characters get run over by a van saving him from a drunk driver.

There's no dimension hopping or time travel bullshit in these.

Just Mideval political intrigue and backstabbing. Except when they back stab, it's literal, not figurative. It's like Petyr Baelish says; "When you play the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die."

These books are the literary equivalent of Joss Stone and Kelly Macdonald wearing nothing but wife beaters three sizes to small and Keds, scissoring each other on the back of a ten story tall grizzly bear, screaming your name.

Read. The. Fucking. Books.

Dude, by the end of the fifth book, you will have a very long, VERY healthy list of people you want to die in the most excruciating manner possible and your heart will sing at the thought of their eventual demise.

But before then, it will get worse before its gets better.

Oh and if you're talking about the part I think you're talking about They're not dead.

Good. I'm not sure who I'm more fearful of right now - Arya's helper ("A man hears.") or the red priestess employed by Stannis. Bloody hell. :(

It isn't much of a secret that I make sweet to your mothers. No need to use spoiler tags. I fixed the spoilers for you guys. You don't have to thank me. Your mothers already did.
