Flornbi, I liked you better when you were dead.
Anyway, my wife and I went to Target yesterday. I was suprised to see the Imperial Shuttle. I told my wife I wanted it, but I didn't want to spend $60 for it (which is code for "I want that for Christmas") Her first words were, "wow, its big"...which isn't something I usually hear her say. I doubt she'll buy it, and it won't bother me because it isn't something I really need.
And I still can't find the damm new Endor Rebels or Luke. I'm sure that wave will come and sit on the pegs after Christmas.

I don't know what's more unbelievable, that bizarro JediTricks actually wasted that much time and effort typing out a review for a 4" piece of plastic THAT HE DIDN'T EVEN LIKE
or
There are toys that Eternal Padawan doesn't collect! Especially with a name that reeks of George Lucas coming all over your face. Who in their correct frame of mind would publicly declare themselves as a padawan? That is about the lamest thing I've ever seen an elderly person do.
ha ha. You and JT should have a lame-off contest to see who's the bigger manchild.

I guess this is the "official" SW thread here?
Anyone else pissed that Hasbro is churning out the third fucking Bossk and IG-88 next year for $10 each? And still no figures for a lot of speaking characters?
Yeah, people, keep snatching up those stupid vintage figures. You sheep keep giving Hasbro your money. Keep telling them, "Yeah, we're willing to buy whatever shit you put out, so how about some more overpriced resculpts of 1-second characters and plenty of clones in every color scheme imaginable. We'll keep bending over, taking whatever you shove in there, and thanking you for it afterwards."
Fucktards.

If they were regular carded figures, I'd be pissed.
At first, I didn't collect the vintage figures. They seemed way overpriced, and the 3PO, Luke, and Yoda looked like crap. Then I traded KH for the Stormtrooper and Boba Fett. I still haven't opened them, and I defiantly won't now since both are coming out on regular cards this year. The '06 vintage figures were the first ones I actually bought. My wife got me the Scout and Luke for my birthday, and I ended up buying 2 of each with coupons and on clearance. That's 2 at regular price, the rest at about half price. The '06 vintage seemed to have a lot wider distribution than the first waves.
From the crappy photos, the Luke, Han, and Snowtrooper look pretty cool and I had all 3 as a kid. Leia looks ok, but would skip it if I can't get it on clearance. She's probably the same quality figure as the new Endor Luke. Bossk and IG-88 already have decent versions in place, but I'll probably end up picking them up because they were 2 of the figures I wanted the most when I was a kid, and remember buying them. Basically, a nostalgic purchase. I can rationalize the purchases because:
1) I don't collect any other toy lines. (but I may pick up one or two of those classic Transformers--like Soundwave)
2) Have cut way back on buying video games.
3) I limit my SW collection to OT figures and I don't buy the re-releases unless I missed them the first time out.
My wife, who runs the budget and tells me what I can spend, didn't have a problem with me getting the Shuttle and the Snowspeeder....in fact, she bought both for me.
I'll buy the Luke, Han, and Snowtrooper to open and a Bossk and IG-88 to keep carded. If I can get a second figure of each cheap or with gift cards, I will.

I like the pics, but like you said, they look different when getting them in person.
As for the VTAC figs, I want the snowtrooper and in quantity too. Hasbro better not short ship this fucker or I will be pissed. Alot of people will be awaitng these. As a matter of fact, I am gonna start working OT next week so I can buy as many as I can.(not really, but will work some because the figures all together((TAC waves as well as VTAC) look really good right now).
I agree with you on the price point, but wiht the TV show coming out next year and if that fails and then the line dies, we might never get these repacked in the future and even by then, the price for a regular figure might be up to 10 bucks, so might as well get em now.
Glad ya liked the Figs Rogue II.

I'm not too worried about the photos quite yet. People on the other site are bitching that Biggs doesn't have a cloak and the droid that comes with the Jawa is too small. Well guess what. The Tattoine Luke doesn't show his moisture evaporator and the cantina alien doesn't have the curved bar section. These are crappy sneak peak photos.
You know what does bother me about the line? 4 Lukes this year. Medal ceremony, another tattoine version, the Jedi Luke, and the vintage Bespin. There will probably be a concept Luke in there, too. On top of that, they probably haven't stopped shipping the '06 Endor Luke yet. Granted, the Bespin Luke is vintage, and the ceremonial Luke was supposed to be out last year...but still. I won't even go on about another Vader.

As I posted elsewhere, I won't be able to say no to Hoth Han and the Snowtrooper - if they're like the pics. I have been a big fan of the VOTC figures to this point though, and would say (that in 90% of the cases) they're worth the extra couple of dollars per fig.
Honestly Chux, we're way apart on this issue: I'd prefer it if they made 15-20 figures of this quality per year and no basic figures. I'd spend less, and be happier on average with the toys.

Is the "new" Vader based off an existing mold? I can never tell. The cloak is pretty cool, but I can probably live without it. I passed on the Endor Vader just because I'm sick of it.
The Vader with the coin book (coins are dumb and a waste) is the 500th Vader again, right? Vader that came with the Target Imperial Shuttle was either the VOTC or Evolutions. Either way, I didn't have it, so it worked out. Still, it ended up in my SW bin with the dozen or so other Vaders, but it is nice enough to where it will be one of the first ones I use when I set stuff up.

I'd be cool with the Vintage figures being $10, if they hadn't proven many times with basic carded figures and the Evolutions sets that they can produce new molds that are as good or better for $6-$7.
And in this case, why freaking IG-88? And Bossk. Jesus. If he wasn't a foam rubber mask, I'd swear someone at Hasbro was fucking him. Even so, I'm not sure that's not the case.
