Sorry for my absence, my friends. My brothers Grip and Grin came down with the swine flu and needed some help satisfying your mothers, oh yes, can you dig it?
Today's smoothess is a different sort of smooth, the smooth that sort of melts in your mouth, much the same way Ran's mother does. I'm talking red velvet cake smoothness, dig?

Awwwww, daddy-o, ol' Snigtad made a booboo. I know that don't sound none too smooth, but it's hard to keep things straight when you've got the women lined up outside your door, and you've got to impart the smoothness to the vynsaniacs while flipping Birth of the Cool (LP, of course) to side B. Smooooooth Day is actually June 3, not May 13. I had my calendar upside down, dig?
Yo, I was wrong again, cats. Well, not really, but you just can't celebrate Smooooooth Day without proper preparations, so I've moved it again to June 13.
Today we celebrate the smoothness that was Mel Torme. That man could've bedded Queen Elizabeth. He could've had a three-way with Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana if he'd wanted to. But he was too smooth to descend to the level of merely consummating with royalty. He preferred the ever-loving coolness of merely being that supercool cat who was often alluded to on Night Court.
