I'm finally finding myself able to let some figures go by without buying them - so I hope that has me at least faded back towards sanity from where I was a year ago. I still have interest in the toys, but to me the toys always took priority over the movies and story (which is how I avoid losing interest because of the story and where it's gone - do I hate lots of what they did in the PT? Of course I do).
I imagine that now I'm on the slippery slope of buying only what I want, the what I want part will gradually become the basic figures and cool-ships-with-figures only - and then maybe just the ones I really want, instead of one of each.
The part that upsets me the most is HOW MUCH STUFF they're putting out - they're actually making MORE this year than they made in 2006, which was more than they made in 2005 (the last year with a real SW movie!).
Oh, and I think Force Unleashed is coming for PS2, so don't get too bent out of shape over that "next gen console" bit.

I hadn't heard anything about Force Unleashed being on PS2; they're always getting their panties in a wad and calling it "the groundbreaking next-gen game" or something like that.
At least in 2007 everything's new (Saga Legends line aside), whereas in 2006 it was mostly repaints and repacks.
Edit: I just checked Wikipedia, and what d'ya know, they say it's coming out on PS2. My sister got one for Christmas so I may be able to check this out after all (though I'd prefer it on regular ol' Xbox).

Int'restin'. They said at Comic-Con it was only PS3 and XBox 360. Not even on the Wii.

I bookmarked the "official" game site, that's where I read about PS2 availability. There's not much there right now, but in case anyone else cares enough to even have a look, here's the link:

Interesting... there it specifies "Next Generation Platforms," but doesn't exclude the Wii.
I may get to beat the shit out of Vader, after all.

We're supposed to be playing as his "secret apprentice" between eps III and IV. Whether or not you'll get to whoop up on DV himself remains to be seen - but you'll likely get to fight along side him, and possibly beat up something that defeats him in battle (and if that comes to pass, that's stupid). There are some little situation videos on the site that show characters using the force to smash stormtroopers in cool ways, worth a quick peek.

Well, if you're fighting as his apprentice then I would assume that you personally get to fight him. You're probably conspiring to take over his position as the Emperor's main man.

They showed some at Comic-Con, and I must admit they look kewl.
One thing about SW in the past several years: no matter how dumb the concept or story may be, the gameplay on all the games rocks.

Was Bounty Hunter any good? I never got around to playing it. Come to think of it, I skipped Republic Commando, the ATOC movie game, and the ROTS games also.

Bounty Hunter was a good game. I need to hunt me down a copy again, I have been itching to play it the last few months

Bounty Hunter wasn't bad, but it wasn't really good either. It was worth the $15 I paid for it.
And from what they said on theforcecast, the PS2 and portable versions of the new game are being developed by other companies.

Bounty Hunter rocked for the most part. It was worth the $15 I paid for my first copy and $20 I paid for the second. (Of course, the insurance paid me like $50 for the second copy, since that's what unopened copies were going for at that point.)

The Force Unleashed Delayed
Posted By Jay on March 8, 2007
An article on GameSpot.com posted yesterday indicates that The Force Unleashed will be delayed until Spring 2008. I have confirmed this with LucasArts and gamers will have to wait a bit longer to play as Vader's secret apprentice. How will this affect the toy and book releases? We will just have to see.
