Movies and Oscars for 2004

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Moderators: Zero, John Madden, Bob Ross, General Zod, Richard Simmons, Batman

Movies and Oscars for 2004

Post by jdr3 »

Is it just me, or did the oscars this year truly suck beyond belief. The change of "format" that they tried to do was pathetic, Chris Rock was totally the wrong host, and what the fuck is up with Beyonce...she was in Goldmember, but what does she have to do with movies....she has her own awards night anyway...called the Grammys. I know the Oscars are all a political social game anyway and they hardly go towards, or promote, artistic creativity in any area of sound but this year almost made it look like they shunned creativity. More than half of the fuckin' movies of 2004 sucked eggs (almost better than how vynsane taught my grandmother to). Disappointed and hardly worth paying 10.50 for a ticket no wonder why dvd copying is rampant and growing these movies ain't worth paying for.

You know, we didn't even watch it this year. It's never been meaningful to me, and I didn't have any real movie/director/actor that I was rooting for to win anything. We haven't seen shit for the movies that were up for the awards either, most years we've seen at least a few. I don't even know who won what.

Unfortunately I wasn't really rooting for anyone either, but I still watch just cause I feel i should, to be in the know....ya know....

You hear all this babble about the change of format for the show to pull in a new audience and then you hear how they didn't do it well, why don't they just put on an award show...actually, who really needs to see the awards show....give me a break it's just really patting people on the back to make them feel like their lives are meaningful, but then this year some of the guys who worked the hardest didn't even get their moment onstage to themselves, all the nominees had to stand up there and now nobody in that group is truly special and their speeches are cut short. Unbelievable.

oye...subject close to me, kinda irks me the wrong way when politics and money have to be involved in every aspect of our lives.

yeah - jd, whenever you get your oscar, you'll be out in the parking lot like chris rock said! those lame aisle awards and star search line-up style awards were ass.

but did you see the guy from super-size me? he still looks like me!
