Hey, Chux. If you've got AIM I can give you my addy via that (slicker1138) or you can email me (slicker1138@yahoo.com) or KH may have it...if it's not trapped in the Negative Zone we used to call SSG.

Dammit. I just got the confirmation number for E1 Chuxter, too. And, I leave tomorrow for another road trip, where I could create new IDs without being traced. Fuckers.

They changed the message on the forums to this:

quote:
As directed by the owner, these forums are off as we prepare a transition team due to SirSteves departure. They will return shortly

I wonder if SirSteve was aware he'd departed before the forums vanished?

And now the message has changed to saying the forums are down, but will return shortly. At least we know someone's working on it... when it comes back on board we can spam it up but good.

Apparently Steve is in talks to get the forums and name back from AO. So we may yet get our forums back...if the little attack the other night didn't mess things up.

I'm ignoring you, Dell.

On a serious note, does anyone know how to contact Action Online directly? I'm planning to draft a professional, yet scathing, complaint letter to them, explaining that they hurt their users and not SirSteve by shutting down the forum (primarily due to putting a sudden halt to a lot of trades in process by people who had no real personal beef with Action Online). And that, due to this lack of consideration for users, I will never again visit any Action Online staff. I'll end by telling them that I am carbon-copying all advertisers on Action Online sites, and by actually doing so.

I tried poking around on a few sites for contact info, but they seem to be amazingly anonymous....

Edit: A Google search eventually yielded Action Online's elusive webpage (http://www.actionol.com). However, the only contact info I can dredge up there is an e-mail for advertising inquiries, which may or may not yield any results.

Binks shared some bad news on our temp forums on myspace. It seems Action Online is attempting to prevent the new site from being launched because of trademark infringements and contract violations. That explains why the image announcing the April 16th opening has been removed and it's just a blank page.

Bastards.

Damn, they're getting more and more shady as the days go by. They deserved to have there forums bombarded by the Army of Dorkness.

Thing is, SSG had to be the only money-maker for them. You ever go to mcfarlaneguide.com? Didn't think so. I can see that they don't want to let it go, but pissing off a couple of thousand users at once is a remarkably bad idea.

Yeah. This is all bullshit. Hell, I'm just pissed about having some conversations cut short (such as our movie discussions about some upcoming films). I realize we can do that here since many of those folks found their way here, but some guys like Caesar or Hellboy aren't here. I can't imagine the anger felt by the folks who were in the middle of more important things, such as Tycho and Sal doing some figure trading.
