Shows you'd resurrect (spun out of the Firefly thread)
Maybe there's a thread here about this. Maybe not. If not, here's one. If so, here's one anyway, and fuck you.
I figure a lot of the early ones will probably be common knowledge to any of us. Maybe some cool stuff will pop up we've not thought of. No rules, but obviously continuing Gilligan's Isle, as fucking awesome as that would be, is probably unlikely given that almost everyone's dead.
Firefly -- No-brainer. Fuck, it's where this thread came from. Even after Serenity, there's just too much to be explored in this verse.
G.I. Joe: Renegades -- You knew it'd be high on my list. After a full season of the "Joes" meeting all sorts of Easter eggs and exposing the Cobra Corporation for what it is, it ended on a cliffhanger. The Joes are vindicated and appear to be joining Hawk's new anti-Cobra team with many of the guys they ran into (or who have been hunting them), Baroness and Mindbender are trapped in another dimension, and Cobra Commander is tough enough to survive acid and vows revenge. And nothing. They don't even intend to continue this shit in comic books.
Deadwood -- Season 3 ended with Bulloch watching as Alma rode away, presumably forever. There's still plenty of ground to explore as the city grows and approaches the twentieth century, not just their story. And Al Swearengen is one of the best fucking cocksuckers in television history, pardon my French.
Pushing Daisies -- This was one of those shows that no one but me seemed to have heard of, but everyone loved it when they actually watched it. Since the comic book seems lost in limbo, and this one ended on a bit of a cliffhanger as well, it needs resolution.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold -- DB will disagree, I know. This show was too clever to die. I could see it continuing as direct-to-video movies or something.
Thundercats -- Apparently, this one did go further than I realized, so some of the lingering plots may have been cleared up (here's hoping Panthro got his arms back!), but it was pretty damned awesome and I'd love to see more.

Spectacular Spider-man (animated series) - the writing was on the Timm/Dini BTAS level and the quirky design style was awesome. the series was kind of left in the dust when disney bought marvel, and Ultimate Spider-man was created. while i enjoy USM, i thought SSM was superior.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

That's good to hear. I saw the first season at Target, one of their weird "As Is" or "Online Item" clearances, for $3 and change. Needless to say, I got it, but haven't watched it yet.vynsane wrote:Spectacular Spider-man (animated series) - the writing was on the Timm/Dini BTAS level and the quirky design style was awesome. the series was kind of left in the dust when disney bought marvel, and Ultimate Spider-man was created. while i enjoy USM, i thought SSM was superior.

Batman: The Animated Series - So kids today can know what a proper Batman is.
Beavis and Butt-head - Its been over a year since the new season with no return in sight. I heard rumors that Comedy Central was a possibility. I think Adult Swim could be another choice. Mtv really fucked it up and killed it by putting on Mtv and not a sister network, like CC.
Blade - Not the best show. It took a few episodes to find its footing, but by then it was too late. I'd like to see at least a wrap up flick since season 1 ended with a cliffhanger. Or a comic book.
Chuck - The show that wouldn't die, thanks to the fans, and one of my all-time favorites. Great mix of sci-fi, action and comedy with a bit of romance. Because of Veronica Mars, Zachary Levi is hoping to get a movie going via Kickstarter. Another one that could make for a great comic book (DC did one mini series during the show).
Flash Forward - While not a great show, it was very watchable and ended with a cliffhanger.
Heroes - I still liked it. No, season 2 wasn't near the level as season 1, but it improved with seasons 3 and 4.

The Simpsons -- It only lasted six episodes, but this cartoon was hilarious! But I guess The Critic is still going strong after more than two decades, so it balances out a bit.

Man, it sucks in this world! Season Six just started. Holy shit, the Oktober Guard is awesome, and the way they introduced Voltar, man, I never knew that character could not suck!anarky wrote:G.I. Season Four was awful. They introduced this weird time travel thing to explain that Jimmy Darmody hadn't really died in Boardwalk Empire, he'd been transplanted to Deadwood in the 1880s. Then the entire space-time continuum started falling apart when he killed Bulloch before Bulloch could save Theodore Roosevelt's life, and Paulie and Big Pussy from Sopranos were working for Julius Caesar, whose master plan was to steal Cy Tolliver's magic talisman. And then who saves the day but fucking Jeff Garlin and Larry David? Christ, I know they were going for their weird "unified" timeline, but this was fucking stupid. Still, watching Jeff's wife Susie beat the shit out of Calamity Jane was priceless.Deadwood -- Season 3 ended with Bulloch watching as Alma rode away, presumably forever. Agree with G.I. Joe: Renegades & Firefly. I forgot they tried to bring Beavis and Butt-head back.
Deadwood is one of those shows I wish I had HBO for. When I did have HBO, Deadwood was ending and I can't start watching TV series in the middle.
How about The Tick? I liked the animated version, but only saw one or two episodes of the live action version. I think I was out of the country when it aired. While we're on the subject, why was season 3 of the animated series only released in Europe? Bring both series back.

If they're not going to finish The Clone Wars, then it would be awesome if they made a new series set between ROTS and ANH, with the possibility of resolving loose ends.
Oh wait, that's exactly what they're doing? Carry on then.

Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Manimal. Why no-one has seen the genius of this show is beyond me. CGI being cheap as chips these days it would be so easy to have Manimal turn into any kind of creature they wanted. Pure fantasy cheese.
Airwolf. Nuff said.
Space: 1999. Silly 1970's sci-fi but if handled correctly could be a fantastic show. Half the moon adrift in space with 300 people trapped in a moonbase. Eagle spacecraft with modular payloads. Weird psuedo-science. Odd encounters. Maya the shapeshifter. An egalitarian society.
Even if it was just a single season it would kick ass.

Stop using your mind readin' voodoo on me!Airwolf. Nuff said.
In addition to Manimal, a reboot of Automan would be pretty kickass.

OMG! There actually is a Space: 2099 project in the works. The team responsible for shitting all over V are working on it.

I was going to mention Automan but my mind went blank trying to remember the title.
