Not really. It's kinda like DDs version of The Dark Knight Returns.Diabolical wrote:DD to die?

Re: Marvel Universe
Ah. I thought maybe it was part of the Marvel Now stuff, but I guess it should've been more obvious since they reference The Dark Knight Returns, Spider-man: Reign and the various The End stories.

The less referencing of Spider-Man:Reign the better. That was..not good.

Re: Marvel Universe
I missed the first issue, but I didn't think it was bad.
I remember a big deal being made about Peter's peter in that first issue.

Re: Marvel Universe
I've not read it, but, based on what I've seen and read about it, I find it somewhat scary that some people consider it to be "great." It's not even like Kingdom Come, where it's hopelessly mediocre, but you can at least see how some people might like it. It just sounds... disturbing as fuck.

Re: Marvel Universe
Balls.
I've got one of those dealer shows coming up tomorrow. Where I can buy two long boxes for $110 each and get a third long box free. So thats potentially 1100-1200 books for a couple hundred bucks. But to save up money I had to lighten my regular comic load this week and ended up only buying 4 books instead of the usual 12 to 16 books. I got the TF annual, Game of Thrones(because there was only like one copy of each), Journey into Mystery(because it's my fave book right now), and Fantastic Four(to round up to four and get the freebie).
So one of the issues I left on the shelf, intending to buy it next week was AvX 11. Of which I just read the spoiler for. Balls. I hate having comics spoiled for me on the Internet.
On the other hand, he's a big douchemayor and I'm not terribly sorry about what happened.

Re: Marvel Universe
I'm so excited about reading the series I went & spoilered myself instead of fighting through all 11 issues. The percentage of me that doesn't care is very large (though it does bring about some interesting questions about how one of the new Marvel NOW! books is going to work).

Having read it, I wasn't totally convinced he was dead.

Isn't he powerful enough that his body could die but not his mind?

Re: Marvel Universe
Nobody in comic ever stays dead anyway. I'm apathetic about it.
And the publishers should realize nobody gives a fuck anymore.
Every single A-List hero has died and come back at this point. Many of them more than once.

Particularly if you count Infinity Gauntlet.

Re: Marvel Universe
I agree. Had they not made it clear in interviews on fansites, I would've thought he just got brainzapped or something. Certainly not a corpse. I don't think anybody even says "ZOMG! Chuck is dead!" in the comic.Diabolical wrote:Having read it, I wasn't totally convinced he was dead.

Re: Marvel Universe
Morrison already wrote a story about Cassandra Nova's huge Xavier-brain living in something else, right? Easily cribbed for bringing Chuck back whenever they like.
