Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
I have just read an extremely critical chapter of book three. There are real tears in my eyes and I'm angry anyone ever suggested I read these fucking books. So cruel.

And now you know what I meant by "after" and can go back and read the Purple Spoileries on page 4.RoIIo Tomassi wrote:You can come back and read the spoilery bits after. And you'll know what I mean by "after".
Also, my reaction to said chapter is back on page 1 of this Topic. It's the ninth post.

Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
I'm really not sure if I have any reason to continue reading. Everything I was hoping to see happen, other than the revenge deaths of certain characters, is out of the equation.
The fact he let Arya get so close to her family only to (at least seemingly) die without ever reuniting with them was about the most cruel he could have been. I just sat there agape.
I honestly can't see the purpose of continuing, everyone I cared about is gone.

Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
Oh fuck you guys.
I was planning on reading a couple of other books before going on to A Storm of Swords, as it seems to take me fucking forever to finish these books, but the last few posts have me itching to keep going.
Assholes.
I've got 84 pages left in A Clash of Kings, with what I'm assuming are many of the "cliffhangers" of this book (spoiler tags in case anyone else decides to read this thread later): Catelyn confronting Jaime, Theon faking Bran's death, the battle of King's Landing (with Tyrion being a total badass), and Daenerys finally finding a way across the sea.

Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
Take a deep breath. The end of book 2 works into book 3 with a bit of a lead-in from the author, but again it's almost seamless. I guess I'm about 2/3 of the way through book 3 at this point and all I can say is that things are looking quite different.

I'm rereading Clash of Kings so I can differentiate what happened in which book. Everything has all run together after 5 books and 4000 pages.

,Finally (!) Finished A Clash of Kings - a very Empire Strikes Back ending.
Going to do a couple of quicker reads before book 3, like my new Batman trades and Kevin Smith's new book.

Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
The end of book 2 was Bran commenting on Winterfell if I'm not mistaken - odd how both books have endings that stuck with me, even though I rolled right into the next book in each case as though it was only a chapter break. That's some good authorin'.

Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
I thought Catelyn's last chapter should have been the last one ("Brienne, give me your sword").

Yeah - Catelyn Stark: not one to fuck with.
Well I'd fuck fuck, like you know, fuck with her, but you know what I mean.

You mean in the past tense. Fucking her now would be gross and smooshy.jjreason wrote:Yeah - Catelyn Stark: not one to fuck with.

Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
I guess I was visualizing the actress, who is older than what my imagination of Catelyn Stark was. I'd still fuck fuck with her, but not as soon as I'd fuck fuck with the comic book version. Holy boobytitties, Batman.

Another chapter, another character I've known for the better part of 3000 pages bites the dust. This one I'm somewhat less upset about, pussy bitch filthy fucking asshole cocksucking motherfucker that he was & all.

Re: A Song Of Ice And Fire
So I'm rereading CoK, and on the second reading I'm even more convinced that Jaqen H'ghar(or however you spell it) isSyrio, Arya's 'Dancing' Coach in disguise.
