Metal Gear
Anyone played any of these? I've been through Metal Gear Soid for the original Playstation more times than I can count. My favorite game ever. I've beaten up on part 2 MG:Sone of Liberty on PS2 quite a bit too. Next will be MG3:Snake Eater, apparently. We'll have to wait and see.
I did download and install a good Nintendo emu program (called Nesticle, check it out if you can find it, well done) and the ROMs for a few games I used to play. The original Metal Gear is pretty tough, I can't get very far on that at all. The second part, which came out for a Japan-only system, I have......but can't make it run. Something's up with the emu. I may have to get that MAME or whatever, the one that runs everything. Anyone use these?

Yeah, the very first Metal Gear was tough. You don't start with a weapon and can't get caught? Even looked at? That's tough, dude. I gave up too easy. Gimme the shit where you can just mow a mother fucker down.
Like Goldeneye. Slow the villains all down and give them all bazookas. Fucking hours of fun.
I played MG:S but not the sequel. I hear a GameCube version of Metal Gear is in the works. I may break down and spring for that.

One of my all time favorite games is Duke Nukem, Time to Kill. That game rocks. Blowing away fat ass pigs and lizards. The replay valyue of that game is well worth the 40 or 50 bucks I spent on it. I also Liked Unreal Tornament on PS2. That one board was hard as shit to beat. It was set in the cold and ytou were running around on the inside. You could see it through the window. Anyway. I finally beat it and the whole game and my step-son erased it off my memory card. Man I was pissed.

You have a little more control in Sons of Liberty, you can do a little more. The play of it is absolutely wicked - the plot of the story gets a little thick at the end, but it's so fun. And cheap these days too, if you have a PS2. Im planning on getting the one with extras ("Metal Gear 2: Substance") as soon as it drops another price notch.
Hey JJ, I use the MAME(if you want classic arcade games, it's THE way to go.... if you "own" the roms, at least, LMK if there's any you need).... it is pretty much for arcade games only, there are other emulators for other stuff.....
There are ways to get mame to run some cartridge style stuff, but I am not sure... is the system you are referring to "super famicom", or something newer?? sounds like famicom, which is SNES without one tiny piece of plastic inside it... the SNES I am gonna send you has the mod, and I do have PARODIUS, the famicom release... it's a WICKED game, you'll see
BTW, the autobot symbol is more stoic than sad... it's more a resolute frown than a tearful one, I think

Well since the last post in this forum, MGS3 has dropped and now comes MGS3 Subsistence. After MGS they came out with a VR Missions game, that allowed players to learn specialized techniques to make their replay of the original game more exciting. After MGS2 came MGS2 Substance, which had some extras (like being able to skateboard all over the maps, etc). In my opinion, neither of the "extra" games has been worth the money. The latest one of these (Subsistence) actually might change that. Within this game you get the full version of MGS3, as well as the original Metal Gear (from the NES) and MG2 - Solid Snake that was only playable on some odd post NES system that none of us likely ever had. I think I'm going to drop the $40 on this one and give it a whirl.

Yeah, Snake's Revenge was a "sort of" sequel to Metal Gear 1. It's not a real sequel, as the real Metal Gear guys (Hideo Kojima) had nothing to do with it. Really pissed Kojima off that Snake's Revenge was even made.
Believe me, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake is the game I want. I've played Snake's Revenge, and it's not worty of the Metal Gear legacy. Big Boss is a god damn robot in that version!
