No original Star Wars toys? WTF?
They're directly responsible for almost every action figure on the shelves today.

I was going to say it looks like older stuff, but then I noticed the 2600 and GameBoy on the list. Curiously, no NES, which was probably as widespread as the 2600 and rejuvenated the dying videogame market, or the Playstation, first of the current batch of gaming goodness. Weird. Hell, Transformers and Cabbage Patch Dolls are both older than the GameBoy.

I heard an interview with the curator on the radio. He said they are slow to induct a toy into their hall of fame. The Gameboy looks like it is the newest thing on the list. Judging from the toys that are already in, I'd bet that the Light-Bright and Hot Wheels get in before Star Wars.

and no boogers, and no toy drum (the kind that your devious out of town relatives bequeath), and I notice sand didn't make the list either, or doodies. They can "carefully consider" that list not meaning a fucking thing to fucking anyone capable of actual independent thought, that fucking Hall of Fame must be the gayest thing ever (and I mean that in the old-school way natch) :mabs:

Okay I'm not done- what about fucking string huh?? Fuck man I'd KILL to see the fucking exhibit they have for "Stick"- if I saw a fucking moon-eyed fucking idiot take a fucking pic of that fucker with anything but contempt in mind I'd press the silly putty onto a picture of a vagina then affix it to their foreheads right there in the "museum" (I'd bring some porn with me I guess just in case)

I wonder when styrofoam packing peanuts and bubblewrap are getting fucking inducted. And where's trees, I played with trees more than I played with a fucking stick.

They have descriptions of all the toys here

Slicker wrote:A cardboard box? A fucking cardboard box! Are they serious?!
I built many forts back in the day using a cardboard box. Looking back, I'm surprised my parents and grandparents gave a 7 year old a knife to cut doors and windows in it.

Here is their entry for "Stick"
Stick

The stick may be the world’s oldest toy. Animals play with sticks, and we use them to play fetch with our dogs. Children find sticks an endless source of make-believe fun. Sticks can turn into swords, magic wands, majorette batons, fishing poles, and light sabers. When children pretend with sticks, they cultivate their creativity and develop their imagination. They explore as they search outdoors for just the right one. Children build with sticks, bat balls with them, and walk with them. They are the original building blocks for creative play. Sticks also promote free play—the freedom to invent and discover. They encourage playing outside instead of inside. Sticks are all around us; they are natural and free. And playing with sticks isn’t just for children and animals. Adult artists, crafters, decorators, and architects all make use of sticks in sculptures, wreaths, furniture, and building design. Few adults or children can resist simple play with sticks—from drawing in the sand on the beach, to building a campfire and then toasting marshmallows. Sticks are not only possibly the oldest toy, they’re possibly the best!

Oooh boy

Ahh yes building a giant fucking bonfire is really just "simple play with sticks" that "few adults or children can resist", FUCK is that stupid, that's like saying that some poor drone in a factory putting a product in a box a thousand times a day "can't resist simple play with cartons"

I nominate the Dildo. It is the one toy that all your mothers still play with. Don't believe me? It is probably in her dresser drawer.
