You know what bugs me?
All these feminists who think that, if the US doesn't elect Clinton, we're backwards and the women's movement is dead, blah blah blah, we'll never see a female president in our lifetime, blah blah, men are evil.
Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it actually undermine your perceived intelligence when you're willing to vote for anyone based solely on their gender and/or race? So are these feminists not, in effect, making themselves look stupid by making a big deal about Clinton's gender (or lack thereof--I still think she's an asexual spore)?
Just makes you wonder how much actual thinking some people do.

I fucking hate feminists!! Intelligence level is diminished just by being a feminist!
Asexual spore is a good one, but I seriously think she's a lezbo which grosses me OUT and lezbo feminists are the worst kind of people

Re: You know what bugs me?
I would vote for a woman for President. But I sure as fuck wouldn't vote for such an obviously sleazy blatant two faced phony politician as Clinton. Has nothing to do with her vagina ( real or imagined), shes just a piss poor candidate.

Re: You know what bugs me?
Exactly. The candidate should be the one you consider to be the best, all factors of race, gender, and sexual preference aside. Those are things that cannot be changed, and that one has no control over.
It really makes you look fucktarded to say "I'm voting for Hillary because we're long overdue for a woman president!" And she's encouraging it, 'cause she's such a bitch. (She would be a bitch if she were a guy, too, because she's just a spiteful, petulant bitch.) Obama has never mentioned race except when responding to questions (including his big speech, which was a response in and of itself). McCain has never told white men to vote for him because he's a white man. It's just fucking stupid.
And do these feminists also not see it looks demeaning to, in effect, say, "We can have a female president, but only if she's the wife of a former president?" That's like saying, "We can have a black president, but only if his ancestors were owned by a former president." Really. It is that demeaning.
This whole thing is stupid, because it should never be about race, age, or gender.

oh, I think Obama is VERY much about race, he's just WAY more subtle about it than Hillary is with her vagina!

Oh I totally agree with you Anarky. Feminists are so fucking sexist. And they're also just fucking dumb. Like really, really dumb. Hilary is a commie dyke who fashions her pubes to look like Karl Marx's beard.

Re: You know what bugs me?
I think either one would make an effective president, but there are three factors at work that get me in Obama's camp as the better of two decent candidates:
1. Bill Clinton. The reason George W. Bush has been given carte blanche to ruin my fucking country is partially because Al Gore was hamstrung by the completely assinine behavior of Bill Clinton. Voters associated Gore with Clinton and he paid the price. Seriously, Bill. You just had to get blown by that? Was it worth it? So, the idea of rewarding that narcissistic sack of shit with more time in the White House is repugnant to me. Yeah, that's unfair to Hill, but it influences my thinking.
2. Race. Republicans are going to have to be more above the belt with Obama, otherwise they will be accused of race-baiting, which, whether true or not, is something that can kill Republican careers dead. Republicans don't want everybody to know what some of us already do: they don't want negroes on their golf courses. Fuck all the interns you want, but don't whistle dixie. Witness Trent Lott.
3. Iraq. Hillary voted to give a person who believes he is on a mission from God, but who cannot put a goddamn sentence together, permission to use our military to prove once and for all that he was better than daddy, get some oil, and get re-elected. Fuck that. I know damn well that Hillary knew Bush was full of shit, but she went a long anyway because she could appear tough, and then blame Bush when things went to hell. And she refuses to admit doing so was a fuck up. Barack Obama voted against giving the President authority to destroy a country and kill thousands of Iraqis for no damn reason, so, Obama doesn't have to sit there and try to convince us of anything, because he was right.

I think you and I are looking this from across a generation gap. These are women of the 1960's making the dust up, and in their day, they had plenty for which to fight. However, they have been so successful that their histrionics make them fairly easy to marginalize now. A woman can be president. But their lives have been shaped by thier righteous struggle, so they cling to the fight, even if it has largely been won. Same thing with Obama's pastor- just shut your 60+ mouth up and let candidates be elected by current concerns, not the culture wars of 1969. Shit, the last election was about Viet-fucking-nam.anarky wrote:All these feminists who think that, if the US doesn't elect Clinton, we're backwards and the women's movement is dead, blah blah blah, we'll never see a female president in our lifetime, blah blah, men are evil.

Re: You know what bugs me?
i don't know if i can go along with this assessment... plenty of people were duped into voting for the war and it's not their fault - it's the fault of the people who rigged "evidence" and cajoled everyone into voting for it. i'm sick of hearing hill get berated for not apologizing for voting for the war when the actual perpetrators who called for the war need not apologize for anything. that's just ridiculous. and i'm no fan of hill, i just think you have to be fair and even across the board. if i were hill, i'd have set a press conference the first time i was asked to apologize for voting for the war and simply said:JON wrote:3. "i am truly sorry that the president, the vice-president, their cabinet, the head of the joint chiefs of staff, and numerous other players lied, cheated, doctored surveillance photos and generally swindled this great nation and its congress into a war we didn't want to fight."
how's that for an apology?
Life is short. STUNT IT!
Re: You know what bugs me?
Or how about the next time a funding bill comes up on Capitol Hill she (and her hypocrit liberal cronies) votes against it? I'd have bought the "voting because she was duped by a lie" story a few years ago, but now that the truth has been (rightfully) exposed, why the fuck is she still approving of the war's funding? If all of these goddamn liberals didn't lie just as bad as everyone else, they would've said, "Fuck you. You ain't gettin' no mo' money, beyitch" a long time ago. But they haven't and that makes them no better than anyone else.vynsane wrote: "i am truly sorry that the president, the vice-president, their cabinet, the head of the joint chiefs of staff, and numerous other players lied, cheated, doctored surveillance photos and generally swindled this great nation and its congress into a war we didn't want to fight."

Re: You know what bugs me?
It is a little tough to vote to cut funding when, no matter what happens money-wise, the troops will still be over there. Plus the lefty protestors will be yelling that they don't have body armor, and Republican tacticians will make a big deal about their "not supporting the troops."
Every fucking vote in Washington is calculated to improve someone's chances of re-election. Not for stupid things that the betterment of the country, or the well-being of normal people.
It would definitely send a point, though, if anyone there had the balls to do it.
