movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

That talentless bitch gets naked in every movie, doesn't she (to make up for the lack of talent I assume)?
Anyway, I'd have to make an update to my list, since I saw Juno tonight (an it is a 2007 movie), which knocks Pirates 3 down to an Honorable Mention:
1. Superbad
2. 300
3. The Bourne Ultimatum
4. Knocked Up
5. Juno
6. Live Free or Die Hard
7. The Simpsons Movie
8. Gone Baby Gone
9. Spider-Man 3
10. Sicko
Honorable Mentions:
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Zodiac
"As they say in China, 'Arrivederci'!"
*For the creation of the Golden Deuce Award.
Ashley Judd has only been naked in one other movie, to my knowledge. It was also the only movie that had Mira Sorvino naked. Sadly, it was a made-for-HBO movie from years ago, and I don't think it's been seen again.
1) Ratatouille
2) Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End
3) TMNT
4) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
5) Shrek the Third
(distant) 6) Spider-Man
9,845) Transformers

I saw two films this year, and Spiderman 3- especially after seeing it with a buddy who had not on dvd a couple weeks ago, was fuckin AWESOME in my book tho for "unconventional" reasons I'm sure

I agree with you, Mabs. "Spider-Man 3" is a movie that gets undeservedly shit on because of two campy scenes. And a lot of people hate it because it was weaker than the other two movies of the trilogy. "Return of the Jedi" was weaker than "The Empire Strikes Back" and "A New Hope", but nobody gives that movie much shit. Ewoks be damned, that movie has a lot of redeeming moments, like Jabba's Palace, the speeder bike chase, the Death Star II battle, and Vader throwing the Emperor's ass down a hole. I see "Spider-Man 3" the same way. Sure, it had some bad moments (Jazz Club), but you'd be lying if you said the "Birth of Sandman" scene wasn't amazing.
Difference is, ROTJ is weaker than ANH and ESB, but still a damned fine movie.
Spidey 3 reduces all the characters to one-dimensional plot devices, has a story that doesn't make a lot of sense and has far too many holes, tries to shoehorn too many characters and subplots into a movie that can't even develop the major storyline, has too many "what the fuck?" moments (like Venom knowing about Sandman's daughter, or Harry's butler not having told him the truth about his father for a few years), and is on par with shit like X-Men 3. Some fine acting by talent that's wasted here, and some gorgeous special effects, are about all that are watchable about this.
Dumb as the jazz club scene is, you could've cut it entirely, and the problems with the movie would still be just as big.
Using the Star Wars analogy, imagine if ANH and ESB were followed up by a movie that was worse than the prequels dared to be. Let's say that the original trilogy was ANH, ESB, and Short Circuit 2.
That's what the Spider-Man series is like.

2007 was a fantastic year for movies, I'd be hard pressed to narrow my list down to a Top Three but if I had to, I'd say Spider-Man 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, and Transformers.
2008 is looking to be a great year again for movies with Fanboys and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as well as more DVD releases of Young Indiana Jones.
I can definitely add 1408 to my favorites list. I just watched this one last night and I really enjoyed it; good psychological mind fuck movie. Cusack did a phenomenal job. Excellent stuff.
"Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."
I can't wait to watch 3:10 to Yuma, I've only heard outstanding things about it.

I know 300 was based on the comic book, but the end wasn't historically accurate. According to the documentary I saw, Leonidas' death was a bit more gruesome.
