Re: star wars
And I wonder where the fucktards at the other site are shopping so that they never see or hear kids buying or asking for SW figures like the rest of us see and hear almost every fucking time?

Re: star wars
Hell, I saw everyone going for SW toys today. I was glad I got first dibs on them as I got some of the legend's droids I needed. Employees ravaged the McFigs tough.

Re: star wars
I saw the two mega-Battle Packs tonight. I'll admit they look sweet. The repainted Hoth Trooper and Ewoks (that ain't Wicket, sorry) look bitching.
These ain't no $50 sets, though.

Re: star wars
The thing that surprised me the most was that the Hoth cannon isn't a repack, but a new sculpt.
Why didn't they repack the POTF2 Bunker Blast doors in the Endor set?

Re: star wars
I'm not so sure it's a new sculpt. I think they just "blew up" the old POTF2 one. The detailing is pretty much the same, only the size is different.

Re: star wars
I haven't opened mine yet, but I'm pretty sure it's all-new. The old one didn't even have a proper base; it just connected to the snow base. There are quite a few other differences, too.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Re: star wars
I broke down and got my brother to pick them up for me. Tycho has analyzed them as being worth $96 each - and we know how airtight his thinking is.

Re: star wars
Yeah, I know they're great value. It's just that I don't need another Derlin, Midget Rebel Trooper, Hoth Luke. Endor Han, Endor Chewie, poorly made Speeder Bike, and two undersized AT-STs. Hell, I don't even really need the Imperials. If they get marked down, I might get them for the two Ewoks (like I said, that ain't Wicket--I like JJL's calling him Widdle), the blue-coat Han, and the new AT-ST Driver (even though there are two identical ones--they could've at least given him different heads).
Truthfully, I don't even give a fuck about the turret.

Re: star wars
I got both of these sets but am waiting for my birthday or Christmas to officially get them and open them, but just looking at them, they are damn sweet. I have a few nitpicks, though, and more thoughts:
The AT-ST Drivers actually are different. They both use Han's body from a few years ago, and they have the heads from the Capture on the Tantive IV Battlepack but with different hair colors (I think; at least one does). The Hoth one's suit is more grayish and the Endor one's is more greenish. A lot better than I thought.
I only called the Ewok Widdle instead of Wicket because I misread it on RS, but I think it's as close as we'll ever get. At any rate, it's a new Ewok, which is fine in my book. (Though I think it's nearly time for them to retire that damn Wicket sculpt.)
Both the Han and Luke in the Hoth set bother me. The VTSC Hoth Han had a brown coat with a blue wash - it LOOKS either color depending on the light, and I love that effect. The new one is too blue, but it makes some people happy, so whatever. I just don't think we need two colors for every goddamn Hoth Han. The Luke, while a nice thought, is way too tall and has a pre-accident face, so it kind of sucks as far as authenticity goes. I would've preferred something else, like a modification to the VTSC X-wing Pilot mold or just a different pilot altogether.

Re: star wars
Ah. I didn't even look at the Drivers' suit colors, just the faces. They looked the same, so I assumed they were totally alike.
And, as a funny aside, going back to KH's post earlier, imagine some seedy looking SOB walking up to the endcap of all these Battlepacks, grabbing one and throwing it on the floor, whipping his dick out, shoving it in a crack in the side of the Battlepack, and fucking it until he cums all over Han Solo.

Re: star wars
I saw the new C-3PO for the first time in person. It doens't look that great. That is the only new figure I've seen in a month. Everything else here is either older waves or Legends.
Target also had an exclusive SW minis set. It looked ok. It had the AT-ST, a snowspeeder, and a bunch of mini figures Plus, it came with a box of the bounty hunter expansion set. I scanned it at the price check station and it came up at $60. Screw that. This is one of those lines I did start collecting and regret doing so.

Re: star wars
I got waves 6 and 7 delivered to my door tonight by my new e-tailer (dude lives in my fucking neighborhood - how can you bit that???).
I'm surprisingly happy with these - even Torture Rack Han made me smile (I never took him off the rack, and it's a pretty cool little setup like that).
The Ewoks are cool, but aren't quite of the same quality as Chief Chirpa - i guess that should have been expected since we got 2 of them for the same fucking price. R2 is rehashed, but the reek of plastic coming off that net would have the real Tycho's head spinning - powerful stuff.
